Fracturing Ball of Soluble Composite Materials
Our company successfully developed a series of fracturing balls of soluble composite materials. The testing and experiment results showed that the products of our company meet the needs of petroleum drilling technology quite well. The soluble composite materials were treated by different processes and various of fracturing balls of soluble composite materials can be produced according to the different requirements.
The material characteristics
The material can be dissolved in the electrolyte containing water and is insoluble in oily medium. The rate of dissolution depends on the temperature and the construction features used. The density is in the range of 1.82 g/cm32.10 g/cm3). The maximum operating temperature is about 150 oC and it's quite applicable to water wells and gas wells. The volume of the balls is about 50 mm. In the 1% KCl aqueous solution at 50 oC, the balls turned to be 41 mm for 48 h and to be 32mmfor 96h. A high temperature will lead to a fast solution rate. The surfaces of the balls are coated with a film with thickness of 0.1mm for temperature control. They will not be reacted at 40 oC when fractured. The dissolution rate will gradually speed up with the increasing of the well temperature after being fractured. The test pressure of this kind of ball is 70 MPa, which can meet the demands of oilfield multistage fracturing.
